llms.txt for Webflow: How to Add It and What Else AI Search Needs
Webflow is the best site builder for GEO optimization: full control over robots.txt, Custom Code in the head, and arbitrary file uploads. Everything can be set up in 15 minutes.
Webflow gives you a full robots.txt editor, Custom Code support in the <head> for any page, and file uploads via Assets — including llms.txt. No limitations like on Squarespace or Wix.
- Schema.org — via Custom Code in Project Settings
- FAQ Schema — +41% citation rate in AI responses
- robots.txt — via Webflow's built-in editor
- Specifics and freshness — explicit prices, facts and update dates are what AI actually cites
- llms.txt — uploaded via Assets; a short summary for AI agents, little to no effect on citations
First — generate your files
- Go to causabi.com
- Enter your Webflow site URL
- Get and download the Schema.org, FAQ Schema, llms.txt, and robots.txt
Add Schema.org via Custom Code
In Webflow you can add Custom Code either globally (all pages) or to a specific page.
- 1.In Designer, go to Project Settings → Custom Code
- 2.In the "Head Code" field, paste the Organization Schema from Causabi
- 3.Click "Save Changes"
- 1.Open the homepage in Designer
- 2.Click the gear icon next to the page name → "Custom Code"
- 3.In the "Inside <head> tag" field, paste the FAQ Schema from Causabi
- 4.Click "Save"
Configure robots.txt
Webflow has a built-in robots.txt editor — one of the most convenient tools among site builders.
- 1.In Designer: Project Settings → SEO
- 2.Find the "Robots.txt" section
- 3.Replace the content with the robots.txt from Causabi (with AI crawler permissions)
- 4.Click "Save Changes"
Upload llms.txt via Assets
In Webflow you can upload files via Assets, but direct upload to the root is limited. Use this approach instead:
- 1.Create a new page in Designer, name it "llms" (slug: /llms)
- 2.Add a Rich Text block with the llms.txt content from Causabi
- 3.In Page Settings → Excluded from sitemap (not needed in the sitemap)
- 4.Publish — the page is available at your-site.com/llms
With Webflow Logic (Enterprise) you can set up a webhook that serves llms.txt at /llms.txt. This gives you the correct URL, but requires setup.
Publish and verify
- Click "Publish" in Designer — publish to your domain
- Check robots.txt: your-site.com/robots.txt
- Go back to causabi.com — run a new audit
- A score of 75+ means excellent GEO optimization
- Validate Schema.org: validator.schema.org
I implemented it, but the check doesn't see the files
If the site sits behind Cloudflare or another CDN/hosting cache, the file may keep serving from cache for hours. Purge it manually: Cloudflare → Caching → Configuration → Purge Everything, or wait out the TTL.
Make sure you're running the audit against the real public domain, not a staging.* or temporary hosting URL — the files there can differ.
The file must open at exactly /llms (see step 3), not /docs/llms or another subfolder. Check the URL directly in the browser.
Even one missing comma breaks the whole markup. Paste the code into validator.schema.org — it will point to the exact broken line.
After fixing, go back to causabi.com and re-run the check for your site — the score will update.
